Ok I've heard sharepoint should be used for what I am wanting to achieve.

Basically I have created a database where users will log the date a document
was created and a bit of spiel about it.

It was then said to have the documents hyperlinked to the database and
sharepoint services would be ideal for setting up and sharing the documents
to the users.

I have installed sharepoint on one of the windows 2003 boxes but I am having
difficulty setting it up, I have tried searching the microsoft site for
documentation. Does anyone know where there is a decent guide for setting
up sharepoint, and document management and stuff.

cheers

Hi Steven,

I've been using the book by Bill English - called "Sharepoint Products
and Technologies Resource Kit". It is one of those big fat computer
books that makes you feel good to have! It has answered almost all of
my questions about the product so far so I am pretty happy with it.

You could also try the following URL:
