reinstall issues

Hi all, I hope someone can help me, I have a Win2k3 box with
exchange/iis active directory on it (we only have the one server
unfortunately) the previous IT officer had a installation of sharepoint
portal server on it, but it wouldn't work, so I went to repair the
install this failed, so I attempted to remove it, most of it has
removed but there is still a listing under add/remove for sharepoint
portal server, I have followed the uninstall instructions, and have
attempted to reinstall, however it gets most of the way through before
failing, it says to check 3 log files for errors, only 1 is viewable,
and this shows no issues.

Any Ideas on how to get this reinstalled?

I have similar problems.
I try to reinstall and it fails
and I have no sharepoint server anymore
