Hi,

I have a client that has a SP portal installed in a central location.
(They ahve 7 sites nation wide, with fairly good WAN connections.) In the
original implementation, they hid the My Sites feature. For the next phase
of the evolution, they want to enable My Sites, but have the sites be
created on servers local to the users when they click on it. This is mainly
because they are using some 3rd party web parts to talk to document
libraries in each city, and to reduce letency on the calls generated.

So the question is, how can we re-direct teh My Sites link to another
server, based on which site a user is in?

TIA,

Could you not use Shared Services and have the parent portal hosted at
the HQ but the others at there own sites. you could then configure the
My Sites from a central location but have them hosted on each child
portal?
