Hello All,

I have a question, I'm having problems with my topology setup in
SharePoint 2003.

Someone told me about a document on Microsoft's Best Practices on
Topologies (ie 9, 5 , 3, 1 rule. You can have 2 web servers 1 index
server etc) Does anyone know where I can find this information.

The problem I'm having is I have two web servers one of the servers
has Web, Search, Index, Job. The other has just web. I also have a
seperate SQL server.
I get a topology not supported error, when I try to create another
portal site on another virtual server.

Thanks in advance!

We ran into the same issue. When we contacted Microsoft they said even
though the Topology isn't supported you could still use the Topology the way
it is. What we had to do is break away the Index and Job to a different
server and then the Topology said Supported.
